Course content:

  • Purpose of Water Resources Management (WRM).
  • Components of WRM plans.
  • Analysis of hydrologic data (double-mass curve analysis, identification of outliers, interpolation of missing data, time series analysis, average values of hydrological data over a catchment, method of inverse distance, method of kriging).
  • Rainfal-Runoff models (schematic representation of the hydrological processes in a catchment, mathematical description of evapotranspiration, infiltration and runoff, linear reservoir model).
  • Storm hydrographs (synthetic methods, estimation of precipitation losses, SCS-method).
  • Linear programming
