Dr. Andreas Langousis, Associate Professor of our Department, takes over as the new Editor in Chief (EiC) of Stochastic Environmental Research and Risk Assessment (SERRA)

Dr. Andreas Langousis, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering, has been recently announced Editor in Chief (EiC) of Stochastic Environmental Research and Risk Assessment (SERRA, IF 3.38, https://www.springer.com/journal/477). SERRA publishes research papers, reviews and technical notes on stochastic (i.e., probabilistic and statistical) approaches to environmental sciences and engineering, including the description, modelling and prediction of the spatiotemporal evolution of natural and engineered systems under conditions of uncertainty, risk assessment, interactions of terrestrial and atmospheric environments with people and the ecosystem, and environmental health. PhD Candidate Mr. Athanasios Serafeim wins the European Geosciences Union (EGU) Photo Competition 2022

PhD Candidate Mr. Athanasios Serafeim won the annual photo competition of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly in Vienna, Austria. The photo shows the sunset view of the Simonopetra (Greek: Σιμωνόπετρα, literally: "Simon's Rock") Monastery, on the southern coast of the Athos peninsula, in Northern Greece. The monastery, which was built during the 13th century, is located at an altitude of 300 meters from the sea level, on a granite rock hillside and is one of the most daring buildings of Byzantine engineering, as it is a seven-storey tower building.
