Ioanna Ntaikou has a Degree in Biology from University of Patras (2001) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering (2006) from the same institution. She has worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Chemical Engineering of the Foundation for Research and Technology (2007-2023) and the School of Chemical Engineering Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens, (2016-2023) and as Adjunct Professor at the University of Peloponnese (2009-2016) and the University of Patras (2017-2023). In 2023, she joined the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Patras as an Assistant Professor, being a member of the Environmental Engineering Laboratory. She is co-author of 51 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals, 5 book chapters, 1 monograph (https://orcid.org/my-orcid?orcid=0000-0002-5039-6432) and >90 articles in proceedings of international and national conferences. She has participated as researcher and coordinator or project manager in >25 international and national R&D projects, she is a reviewer for >30 international scientific journals and member of scientific committees and associations.
Her core research interests are on the sustainable treatment of wastewater, wastes and residues through biological and thermochemical processes with simultaneous valorization towards high added-value products and also on the purification and reuse of water.
