Christina Iliopoulou is an Assistant Professor at School of Civil Engineering at University of Patras, as of January 2024. She holds a Ph.D. from NTUA and an M.Sc. Degree in Transportation Technology and Policy from University of California, Davis (GPA 4.0/4.0). She also holds a Civil Engineering Diploma from NTUA with a specialization in Transportation Engineering. She received a Post-Doctoral Excellence Fellowship to pursue research at ETH Zurich and a Ph.D. scholarship from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation for the completion of her Ph.D. thesis. Her main research interests include the design and operation of transportation systems, focusing on the development and application of mathematical programming methods and artificial intelligence algorithms. Since 2014 she has been working in research projects in the field of urban transportation systems (UC Davis, NTUA) and she has worked as a member of the Collaborative Research Personnel of the Hellenic Open University (2020-2021). She is a co-author in over 46 publications in international journals and over 46 publications in conferences and conference proceedings, while she is a reviewer in over 39 international journals. Since 2026, she is an Associate Editor for the journal Evolutionary Intelligence (Springer).
